Arana is a morality tale adapted from the story ’The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings’ written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This story about a girl who disobeys her parents is recreated from Sofia's imagination. As a punishment for her wrongdoings the girl is turned into a spider.

The Artist's Book was printed in q small edition of 100 copies.

Sofia Drescher is illustrator and textile artist based in London, studied at the Royal College of Art. Illustration and textiles are integral in her practise. Sofia focuses on translating drawings through processes including screen-print, drawing and collage without neglecting the digital. My work is informed by other’s behaviour, imagination and personal experiences.
